Community CROPS November 2007 Newsletter
We are still busy here at Community CROPS getting everything cleaned up for the season and beginning to plan for next year. The most exciting development recently was the new fence installed at the 46th and Pioneers Community Garden. Thanks to a great contribution from Lowe's and a great team of AmeriCorps members, the fence is up and looks great!
We're also using our hoophouse out at the farm to try growing vegetables longer and plan to put up a second one. A hoophouse is just a small unheated greenhouse that makes a big difference in extending the growing season. We hope to grow a lot of cold season crops such as lettuce, spinach, cabbage and kale and learn as we go.

Planting Tips
There's still lots you can do in your garden this fall. The ground is no where close to freezing even though we have had cold air temperatures. You can still get garlic planted, as mentioned in last month's newsletter and flower bulbs can go in the ground until it freezes as well.
